Hot Wings Grill and Rib House - 563 Queen Street West

First up is Hot Wings Grill and Rib House, located at 563 Queen Street West this restaurant is fairly new and follows a series of failed restaurants in its place. My visit took place on Friday August 13th, 2010 and it just so happens that George Stroumboulopoulos was eating there at the same time...I mean I could care less about the guy, but while he was in the washroom I was tempted to talk to the girl he was with.  Anyway, on to the wings!

One of the selling points of this establishment is their wings are grilled, not fried. Apparently it is supposed to be better for you, but then again these are chicken wings and if you are really worried about it then go start a salad blog. ;-)  The wings were good sized, not battered and not too fatty. They were cooked perfectly and served with some delicious fries!!!

I ordered the Suicide and very underwhelmed, I even mentioned it to the waitress who assured me she heard it before. My friends got the Cajun and Lemon Pepper, neither flavour blew anyone away - but you need to be careful anytime you order those CRAZY flavours as far as I am concerned.

Verdict: Great location, good jukebox and a potential for a great wing...provided there are some tweaks to the recipe (i.e adding flavour and hotness). In a little while I will be back for a follow up review, every restaurant deserves two tries before being blacklisted. Stay tuned.

Flavours:
Classic Hot Wings: Plain, Mild, Medium, Hot, Suicide, Honey Garlic, Hot and Honey, Buffalo Style, Smokey
Flavoured Hot Wings: Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Parmesan Garlic, Terriyaki, Thai, Jerk, Peri-Peri, Curry

Welcome!

Welcome to my newest home! Take a seat, order a beer and lets get to talking some chicken wings.
Over the next little while I will be exploring the world of chicken wings and everything that they have to offer in the city of Toronto.

I will offer reviews and recollections of past wing dinning experiences, tell stories of adventures involving wings and beer, post articles and ultimately  my goal is to make this the ultimate depository for wing enthusiasts to find out where good deals are available for each night of the week.

Bare with me as I am a blogging virgin, but together we will get through this.

Cheers!
